Biography
Darlene has nearly 25 years of health care and administrative experience, including 10 years as a director of quality care management. In that position, she directed the risk, quality, performance improvement, infection control and medical staff programs. Her accomplishments include writing and speaking on a variety of risk management topics, the coordination of The Joint Commission, DHHS, and Medical Board surveys, and ensuring compliance with OIG and HIPAA initiatives. Most recently, Darlene has provided risk management consultation services to hospitals and ambulatory care clinics and nurse consultant services, while working with hospitals and health care systems in the evaluation and defense of medical claims and litigation. Her specific clinical focus, prior to her quality and risk experience, was adult critical care, medical-surgical/orthopedic and oncology.
Darlene joined The RM&PSI in April 2008 and her current responsibilities include the provision of risk management services, patient safety, and educational support to clients in Washington and Oregon.
Darlene has a bachelor of science degree in Nursing from Gonzaga University. She is also a Certified Professional in Health Care Risk Management and a member of the Oregon Society of Healthcare Risk Management board of directors.
