Program Description
Health care is filled with competing priorities. Daily, workers face making decisions related to revenue vs. time, efficiency vs. potential safety, individual accountability vs. systems thinking, and patient autonomy vs. justice in the use of limited resources. The list is endless. With so many competing interests, conflict is bound to occur. It happens among health care providers, with administration, and with our patients. How do we manage conflict, disagreement, and distrust in a way that supports safety and sets the stage for more in-depth problem solving?

As a result of this presentation, participants will be able to:
  • Distinguish between disagreement and conflict and the implications for patient safety.
  • Discuss the relationship between personal mindset about conflict and choice of conflict resolution strategies.
  • Apply the concepts of Interest Based Negotiation to brief intervention strategy.
  • Apply concepts to personal work situations.

What is a Webinar-on-Demand?
Webinars-on-Demand are a logistically simple way for health care providers and executives to hear national speakers and content experts address hot topics in patient safety, clinical risk reduction, regulatory and accreditation issues, and general liability trends.

Webinars-on-Demand allow participants to view a pre-recorded webinar over the Internet for sixty days.  Programs can be shared within your facility.  Participants can complete an on-line post-test and evaluation in order to receive continuing education credits.  A confirmation e-mail will be sent following the purchase of the program that includes links to access the program, handout materials, and on-line post-test and evaluation.

The Risk Management and Patient Safety Institute wishes to take reasonable steps to ensure no individual who is physically challenged is discriminated against because of the absence of auxiliary aids and services.  If special arrangements are needed please call (888) 466-4272.
