This program will assist participants in identifying hidden threats to patients due to ineffective teamwork and communication and discuss strategies to transform the culture of the OB unit including an introduction to the MOREOB program.

 

This program will review key elements of an effective risk management program, including leadership support, strategic planning/direction and proactive risk identification.  You will gain tools that will help you demonstrate that your program incorporates the best elements of an effective risk management approach.

 

An effective ERM program is comprehensive in its focus, supported by the Board and senior leadership, and requires the involvement of all with the organization. This program will assist the health care executive in understanding the necessary steps in implementing an ERM program regardless of organizational size or structure.

In this program, we explore challenges related to the Joint Commission’s requirements for conducting a root cause analysis for sentinel events, efficient use of resources, and running an effective root cause analysis team meeting.

 

In this program we will discuss a positive approach for conducting multi-dimensional, ongoing evaluations of practitioner performance. Suggestions for overcoming challenges specific to small hospitals will be presented.

This program discusses obstetrical documentation best practices and pitfalls, assists the provider in understanding how appropriate documentation mitigates risk of liability, and provides documentation recommendations for high-risk obstetrical presentations.
